A versatile soprano, she completed a Bachelor of Music (Hons I) in vocal performance at UQ under the tutelage of Sarah Crane. Jenny has enjoyed performing in choirs and as a soloist across Taiwan, China, Italy and Australia.

Since then, Gunnarsson has enjoyed exploring a variety of choral and chamber repertoire, notable performances including Vivaldi’s Gloria, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, and Britten’s Hymn to St Cecilia.  Jenny regularly performs with Brisbane professional ensemble The Australian Voices to premiere modern Australian choral works, as well as One Equal Music, Brisbane Chamber Choir and Viva La Musica.

Jenny is a co-founding member of Brisbane-based vocal quartet Seren8, who performed with Mirusia Louwerse for Opera in the Gardens. Gunnarsson also recently starred in the 4MBS Christmas Spectacular alongside Mirusia and Teddy Tahu Rhodes. From 2023 to 2025, Jenny served as cantor and lay clerk at various churches in Brisbane, including All Saints Anglican Church, St Mary’s Anglican Church, and St Stephen’s Cathedral.

In addition to her performance endeavours, she works as a Speech Pathologist and actively studies to become a polyglot. In 2026, Jenny is looking forward to calling regional North Queensland her new home!
